Metal or Glass?

It's the eternal question - should you use a metal or glass baking pan?

If the recipe doesn't specify, consider what you are making.  Glass holds heat longer, so it's perfect for items you want to keep warm for extended periods (think casseroles).  Metal pans are perfect for bars and brownies - glass can overcook or burn these goodies.

Fun tidbit - yesterday's cake and today's cake were for two brothers.  They celebrated on the same day with one big party.  I can only imagine the mash up - farm and super heroes - but I bet it was fun!

Wedding cake and cupcakes from my niece's wedding!

17 dozen cupcakes - including some that were vegan and gluten free!  And, yes, they were mostly gone by the end of the night.  The cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling.

If you're thinking to yourself, "the icing on those looks a bit different from the usual," you would be correct.  It's whipped cream icing - not my favorite for much of anything and I only agree to use it in very specific conditions, such as this (i.e. cupcakes that can be easily refrigerated!).

Yes.  Yes, I can.

I had fun with this cake...something a bit out of the ordinary.  Plus I love King's books; this book, when I first read it as a teen, left me a bit uneasy.  Clowns have never been the same.
