May-hem

May is always a crazy busy month, but this year it started off a little more hectic/more out of the ordinary from usual.  We had a blizzard on April 29/30 that knocked out power.

So, I ended up caking by lantern light for several days.  The show must go on!  Luckily, Madre got power a few days before I did, so I was able to do the decorating on the cakes that follow where there was electric, but...taking the cake decorating show on the road presents it's own challenges.  And, it's not a show that packs light.

Cake-tastrophe

I'm thankful that I don't have HUGE issues go wrong with cakes very often, but it does happen.  This cake was one of those.

The month of my birth.  And nope, I'm not going to tell you what year.

These aren't Easter goodies: hopefully I'll have those for you next week though I make no promises.  The next 6 to 8 weeks are nothing but cake, cookies, cupcakes, and more cake.  It's a VERY busy time of year.  Which reminds me I need to stock up on coffee...

For now though, please enjoy these that I do have ready to share.
