Summer Beer

I'm not a huge beer fan, but I do tend to drink them more often in warmer weather.  And, one of my favorite ways to partake of beer in the summer is to make a shandy mimosa or citrus beer or whatever you'd like to call it...

How to:
  • Favorite wheat beer or summer ale or shandy
  • Orange juice
  • Peach schnapps, if it's been one of those days
  1. Mix equal parts beer/ale/shandy with orange juice; adjust to your taste preference.  I usually end up with a bit more beer to orange juice.
  2. If including the schnapps, add as much or as little as you'd like.
  3. Exercise caution - these go down easy!
Mmm...tasty!

December = Done

And, I'm back again today with December goodies.  Which means, I have finally managed to get all the 2016 goodies edited and posted.  Let's take a moment to appreciate this happening and to hope I don't get this far behind ever again.

Ok, moving on.

December is for Christmas goodies.  These were my first attempt at petit fours.  They were a pain.  I'm not sure I ever want to make them again.

November Nosh

I apologize in advance for inundating the blog with photo heavy (and long) posts.  But I'm finally (FINALLY!) catching up with posting some older goodies.  I've back burnered doing so for too long and I need to get the task off my to-do list.

So, today we travel back to November of last year (2016).  Hopefully, either tomorrow or by the end of the week, we'll get to re-visit December, too.

With it being roasty, toasty summer outside, why shouldn't we spend a few minutes imagining the cooler temps, shorter days, and winter weather?  Maybe it will help us forget the heat for a few minutes.

More May

Lots more May; actually, the rest of May.  Hope you're in the mood for a long post full of photos today.

May-hem

May is always a crazy busy month, but this year it started off a little more hectic/more out of the ordinary from usual.  We had a blizzard on April 29/30 that knocked out power.

So, I ended up caking by lantern light for several days.  The show must go on!  Luckily, Madre got power a few days before I did, so I was able to do the decorating on the cakes that follow where there was electric, but...taking the cake decorating show on the road presents it's own challenges.  And, it's not a show that packs light.
